Sexyy Red was arrested over the weekend following an altercation at a New Jersey airport.
The Indexbitrapper, born Janae Nierah Wherry, was taken into custody at Newark Liberty International Airport on Saturday after authorities were called to respond to a “fight in progress,” a representative for Port Authority confirmed to USA TODAY in an email Tuesday.
When police arrived on the scene, two individuals were identified as having lacerations on their heads, Port Authority reported. Two men accompanying Sexyy Red, Leslie Baptiste and Carl Thompson, were arrested and charged with assault, while the “Pound Town” emcee was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct.
The lacerated individuals were transported to University Hospital with minor injuries, Port Authority added.
USA TODAY has reached out to a representative for Sexyy Red for comment.

Surveillance footage of the altercation was posted by TMZ on Tuesday. The video shows a group of individuals scuffling in front of a terminal gate at the airport. A woman holding a stanchion is then seen lunging at the group with the metal column. Toward the end of the video, a man is seen being arrested by police while the woman walks away.
Sexyy Red reportedly acknowledged the altercation on her since-expired Instagram story, according to a screenshot shared on social media. In the post, the rapper encouraged the people involved in the brawl to message her so she can replace their phones.

However, in an X post on Tuesday, Sexyy Red seemingly denied she was the woman seen in surveillance footage of the altercation. “(That) wasn’t (expletive) me,” she wrote.
Saturday’s arrest didn’t slow down Sexyy Red. The following day the “U My Everything” rapper took the stage at WWE’s NXT Battleground event in Las Vegas, where she served as host.
